Blackboard UBN / Original: Make your course available
About Course Availability
Access to a Blackboard course is determined by your role. For example, instructors can access courses they are enrolled in at any time via the Courses link, however students cannot access courses marked as unavailable nor can they search for unavailable courses through the course catalog. Course duration has no impact on a course that is marked as unavailable.
There are 2 ways to make a course available
1. Select the Courses link to access your course list. Open a course card's menu to change your course availability. You can also change your course's status on the Course Content page.
2. If the first method does not work for some reason, you can also do the following:
- Go to the Control Panel of the course.
- Click the Customization button, which will expand a dropdown menu.
- Select Properties, then click Yes where it says "Set Availability".
- Click the Submit button (located on both the top and bottom, right hand side).
NOTE: If for some reason your course has the availability set to use Term Availability it will automatically be available during the date range of the current term. Changing the setting as indicated in #2 will override that and make the course available or unavailable (see screenshot below):
