Accessing the Graduate Studies
Blackboard Collaborate Rooms
Graduate Studies has an organization in the Blackboard Learning Management System that gives all graduate students and faculty access to important help documents, research templates, handbooks and checklists. Follow these steps to access the Graduate Studies Blackboard Collaborate Meeting Rooms
Go to http://bb.vcsu.edu and enter your Blackboard login and password. Once logged in, click on the My VCSU tab at the top of the page.
In the My VCSU dashboard, you have a number of "widgets" that contain links to courses, web applications or other areas of Blackboard. Look for the My Organizations widget and click on Graduate Studies.
Once you are in the Graduate Organization, use the menu to access different parts of the organization like the student resources and forms, faculty resources and forms or the Blackboard Collaborate Meeting rooms.
After clicking the Meeting Room link in the menu, a new page will open with information on recommended browsers and getting started. To access the meeting rooms click on the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra link.
When the new page opens you will see a list of meeting rooms labeled by concentration. This is to avoid scheduling conflicts and dedicate rooms to a specific content area. In some cases the "Main Room" or "Course Room" can be used if there is a conflict.
When you click on a room link, a side window will load with a button to Join Session. Click this button to enter.
When you enter, follow any on screen instructions for setting up your microphone and camera.
