Using Your Benefits at VCSU
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides education
benefits to eligible service members, veterans and certain dependents and
survivors.
You may receive financial support for undergraduate and graduate
degrees. You may be eligible to receive funds for tuition and fees, books, housing and more. Please contact your Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor prior to enrolling to VCSU to discuss available education benefits.
Important First Steps
If you are the veteran:
Have you applied for education benefits:
- Yes, please provide us a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to us
- No, go to the VA website and apply for the benefit, it is form 22-1990
- Once approved, please provide a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility
If you are the Dependent or Spouse of Veteran, the veteran would need to complete the Transfer of Entitlement (TOE)
Have the benefits been transferred to dependent/spouse?
- No, the vet must transfer entitlement to dependent/spouse
- Once the entitlement is transferred, the child/spouse must than apply for the benefit on the VA website, it is form 22-1990e
- Once approved, please provide a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility
