How to clear internet browser cache and cookies
Occasionally web browsers have issues accessing information or a particular page does not load correctly or options and links on that web page do not work.
Warning! Clearing cache & cookies might cause you to have to log back into websites. Make sure you remember passwords, etc. for websites before you continue.
Google Chrome
To clear Cache and Cookies, follow the steps below:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right of browser, click the "Menu" button (3 vertical dots)
- Click 'More tools' > 'Clear browsing data'.
- At the top, choose a time range. (To delete everything, select 'All time')
- Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
- Click 'Clear data'.
Mozilla Firefox
To clear Cache and Cookies, follow the steps below:
- Click the "Menu" button (3 horizontal bars) and choose 'Options'.
- Select the "Privacy & Security" panel.
- In the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click 'Clear Data'
- Remove the check mark in front of "Cookies and Site Data".
- With "Cached Web Content" checked, click the 'Clear' button.
- Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.
Internet Explorer
To clear Cache and Cookies, follow the steps below:
- Open Internet Explorer 11
- Click the Settings icon (top right corner) and click Safety
- Click Delete browsing history
- Check the Temporary Internet files and website files option
- Click Delete
- A confirmation message should appear.
Apple Safari
To clear Cache and Cookies, follow the steps below:
- Click Safari
- Click Preferences
- Select Privacy, then click Manage Website Data
- Select Remove All, then Remove Now.
- Click Safari
- Click Preferences
- In the Preferences window, click the Advanced tab and make sure the checkbox next to "Show Develop menu in menu bar" is selected.
- Select Develop in the menu bar on the top of the screen and click Empty Caches.
