Items such as building maintenance, cleaning and sanitation, increased air filtration and other building operations will play an important and complementary role in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.

Access Control and Campus Entry Screening

The Heat Plant (701-845-7708) is available 24/7 to assist with any access issues. Any requests for exceptions/modifications to selected entrances should be directed to email@example.com as soon as possible for consideration.
Guests and Deliveries
Access for non-employees to any VCSU space will be strictly limited.
- Departments should establish notifications protocols for greeting outside guests.
- Avoid bringing guests into any shared or common spaces.
All guests and delivery vendors should be approved and notified in advanced that they must wear appropriate PPE when entering any VCSU building.
Each department should track their guests and vendors by keeping a log of date/time they visited campus.
- Include the date/time and building/floor the visitor/vendor will be visiting.
- All guests/vendors should be wearing proper PPE in order to enter any VCSU building. Additionally, it is requested the visitor/vendor complete a self-screening form prior to entering a VCSU building.
Campus Building Security
Campus building Security remains fully staffed seven days a week across two shifts and continues to support all campus access, response, and security needs.
Campus building security also asks for extra vigilance during this time. Please remember to pay attention to your surroundings at all times and report all suspicious persons or activity to the Valley City police department (911) immediately.
We will continue processing routine work orders for anything that is malfunctioning or needs to be fixed in your areas. Facilities Management continues to monitor all critical building systems and equipment and respond to emergency and urgent situations, with all requests prioritized based on criticality for health, life, and safety first.
Please keep in mind it may take us a little longer than usual to respond to a non-urgent request, as we are updating our team rotations to accommodate physical distancing best practices. We will communicate and keep you updated on work order statuses.
Parking permits will be purchased online through Campus Connection for students and HRMS for employees. Permits will then be mailed out to the preferred address for students and campus mail for employees.
Citations will continue to be paid online or at the Business Office. Free passes can be turned in to the outdoor drop-box at the Facilities Services Office.

At this time, limited construction projects managed by VCSU have continued forward. Facilities Management continues to support and manage these activities and have worked to develop COVID-19 safety plans to be communicated to all contractors. The plans are in place and actively managed by our the VCSU Project Manager.
The Facilities Services department continues to staff all essential services with our personnel, including Heat Plant, Building Services, Maintenance, and Building Security.
Facilities Management is also working full time to meet the campus needs. Project Managers with active construction projects continue to coordinate projects and activities and are working offsite when they are not directly supervising on-site construction activities. All teleworking employees will remain on call and working full time, even when remote providing critical services to departments as applicable to their work areas and responsibilities.
