YuJa Proctoring - Student Guide
YuJa and Lockdown Browser Exam Proctoring – Student Guide
What is YuJa and LockDown Browser Proctoring?
YuJa Proctoring is a set of features within a program called YuJa that allow the student to verify who they are before taking an exam, then launch a video recording session that will capture the student’s environment while completing the exam. YuJa records all screens connected to the computer, plus the student’s audio and webcam video while taking the test. After the test, the recording is immediately uploaded to the instructor’s YuJa account for review.
Respondus LockDown Browser is desktop browser that limits the browsing environment for taking tests in Blackboard Learn. It prevents students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. If a Blackboard test requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser.
When YuJa Proctoring and LockDown Browser are used in conjunction, the student is locked into a secure environment and recorded. The instructor is then able to review the student recording to monitor for questionable behavior that could indicate cheating.
Preparation
To prepare for using YuJa Exam Proctoring, you will want to make sure you have the latest YuJa and LockDown Browser desktop applications. It is recommended that you uninstall and then re-install the applications at the beginning of each semester.
