“I think I’m pregnant…. now what?”

Have you taken a pregnancy test?

NO – Pregnancy testing can be done using over the counter tests kits or by a medical provider. Check out these options:
1. Visit VCSU Student Health Services (SHS) for free over the counter tests.
2. Purchase a test at a local pharmacy or store.
3. Schedule an appointment with your medical provider for a pregnancy test.
YES – Was it positive?
1. Yes – Do you want to be pregnant?
  - Yes – Connect with a prenatal healthcare provider. SHS can provide local referrals.
  - No – There are termination and support services that SHS can provide referrals to.
  - IDK – This is a lot to process. Some options include termination, parenthood, and adoption. SHS can provide consultations and referrals.
2. NO
  - For the most accurate result, the best time to take a pregnancy test is the first day of your missed period with a sample of the first morning urine.
  - Have you had unprotected sex with the past 3days/72hours? If you want to prevent pregnancy, over the counter Emergency Contraception (EC), like Plan B, may be right for you. This type of EC is available over the counter at many pharmacies.
  - Interested in birth control options to prevent future pregnancies?
    - Schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider.
    - Visit SHS for more information and referrals.
    - Free safer sex supplies are available at SHS or click here to order supplies online and have supplies delivered directly to you.
