How to Caption: Using Yuja
YuJa is VCSU’s video platform for creating, captioning, and sharing instructional videos directly within your Blackboard course. Whether you're recording a lecture, a demonstration, or a quick update for your students, YuJa makes it easy to capture, edit, and publish content with built-in accessibility features like auto-generated captions.
Follow the steps below to access YuJa through your course, start a recording, and manage your video after it's saved.
In your course, go to Books & Tools > Yuja - VCSU.


Click Create Recording.

Choose Browser or Software Capture, and click Launch Application. Note: This example uses the desktop application.

Set your camera and microphone settings. Click Start to begin recording.

When finished, click the gray square Stop button. Save the video. Yuja will process the video, auto generate captions and save it the course > My Media.

Share: Select other Yuja users to share with.

Publish: Publish to specific course/location.
- Delete

Edit: Opens Video Editor to cut, trim, add text, edit and sync captions.

General: Edit title, description and tags (tags help make it easier to search for the video)

Links: Direct link and embed code to share the video

Accessibility: Review captions, audio descriptions, and access captioning/transcript files.
