“Uncensored: The Art of Politics" seeks to represent the diverse range of ideals, social issues, and events that contribute to American political discourse. Artists of all perspectives, backgrounds, and media are encouraged to apply.
Politics: the art and science of government. Although traditionally seen in an oral or written expression, one’s stances and beliefs can oftentimes be best expressed visually. This show seeks works representing diverse political works to showcase the boundless political landscape in which the United States resides.
Statement of Co-curating Artist Reagan Koppelman:
As the youngest in a line of politicians, the role of government and the art of politics feature prominently in my life. Considering that my views are often in conflict with contrast to those of my family, political artwork allowed me to express myself and my views and become more confident in myself and the world I wanted to see. Despite much debate occurring due to my works, I chose to keep creating them because I believe that all voices matter. I openly invite people across the political spectrum to converse with me to ensure my views stay balanced and considerate.
This exhibit is open to all perspectives but reserves the right to exclude any artwork that curators consider:
-
Glorifies or encourages hate speech.
-
Overly or unnecessarily sexually explicit
Media: Open to all visual art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, and video.
