Call for Exhibition Proposals

The VCSU Robinson Center for the Arts Gallery is now accepting exhibition proposals for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 academic years. 


Proposals for solo/group exhibits and independent curatorial projects in all media and styles are welcome.  

Deadline is rolling, proposals are reviewed yearly.  Selected artists will be contacted individually.

The Robinson CFA Gallery is approximately 950 square feet and features:

  • approximately 90 feet of wall space 
  • high ceilings and polished concrete floors  
  • an open ceiling appropriate for suspension of work 
  • selection of pedestals and display shelves  
  • a monitor for animation and digital work

 

Proposals must include: 

  • completed online form
  • brief exhibition proposal 
  • artist statement  
  • artist biography 
  • CV 
  • 10 image portfolio of representative or actual artworks 
  • Image list 

  

Selected artists... 

  • receive a modest stipend for the shipping or transport of artwork.  
  • may also be invited to campus for an artist talk and/or workshop.  
  • are responsible for all transportation and insurance of artwork. 
  • must be 18 years old+ and complete required contract and forms 

 

Exhibited artwork... 

  • must be packed safely and packaged for transport and on-site storage – no loose packing peanuts. 
  • 2D artwork must be ready to hang with appropriate wire, mats, frames, etc. – no sawtooth hangers or command strips. 
  • 3D artwork must be stable and self-supporting.  Freestanding/pedestal pieces must weigh 75 pounds or less.  Wall hung sculptures must weigh 20 pounds or less.
