Alumni Room: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: Email University Relations Office or call 701-845-7203. Building Information McFarland Hall is the first building to be constructed on the Valley City State University campus. Construction on the building was completed in 1892 and was originally called "Old Main" and was renamed McFarland Hall after VCSU's 2nd President, George A. McFarland. McFarland currently houses the administrative offices, multiple classrooms, faculty offices and a small theatre. Available Spaces This conference room is located on the 2nd floor of McFarland and provides a welcoming environment for meetings, trainings, presentations and more. This room can seat up to 32 people and features conference tables and chairs that can be arranged in a variety of configurations. There is a LCD screen, projector and sound system that can be utilized for any visual aspects of your event. See attachment below for furniture configuration options. Rental Guidelines Events may be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. VCSU reserves the right to review event plans to ensure that they are compatible with the mission of the university. We welcome the use of our space for meetings, trainings, phone conferences, and presentations. VCSU university groups have first priority in the utilization of the Alumni Room and all other third-party groups having second priority. Smoking is not permitted on any University-owned property. Food and beverages are allowed in this room. Certain users may need to sign a Use Agreement prior to hosting any event at the venue.

Center for the Arts: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: CLICK HERE! Rental Guidelines Events may be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. VCSU reserves the right to review event plans to ensure that they are compatible with the mission of the university. We welcome the use of our space for meetings, performances, music contests, rehearsals, and theatre productions. VCSU Educational programs have first priority for the use of the Center for the Arts with University groups having second priority and all other third-party groups having third priority. Smoking is not permitted in the Center for the Arts or on any University-owned property. Food and beverages are allowed in some areas, by special arrangement. All users must agree to the Center for the Arts Use Agreement prior to hosting any event at the venue.

Graichen Gym: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: CLICK HERE! Building Information Graichen Gymnasium is located in the heart of campus, and is a primary academic/administration building. The building, constructed in 1923, consists of a lower level that provides office space for faculty and staff along with classroom and locker space and two fitness areas. The upper level consists of an arena for a variety of activities including team sports practices, academic instruction, and varsity and intramural contests. Neither level of the building is at ground level. Events held in Graichen Gym have included: athletic events, dances, open gym and more. Available Spaces Gymnasium This 6,766 sq. ft gymnasium features a full-size basketball court and bleacher seating for 300 fans. The following amenities are also available: Lobby area, Ticket booth, Concessions, Locker rooms, Rest rooms, and an elevator for handicap accessibility. *Classrooms may be available upon request Rental Guidelines Events may be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Memorial Student Center: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: Email the Student Center Information Desk or Call 701-845-7122 Building Information The Memorial Student Center is the central hub of the university. The VCSU Student Center is a meeting place for students, faculty, alumni, and the community. The Center provides conference rooms, a complete food service, a bookstore with mail service, a game lounge, a swimming pool, and a number of lounge areas. Past events hosted in the Student Center include meetings/conferences, training sessions, Blood Drives, coffee house performers/open mic nights and many more! Available Spaces Meeting Rooms: The following conference rooms fit into the VCSU Viking theme as evident by their Scandinavian names: Denmark Room This conference room is furnished with tables and chairs to accommodate a meeting size of up to 12 people. Refreshments can be served in this room. Additional charges may be incurred for certain events and will be discussed by the Student Center staff. Norway Room This conference room is furnished with tables and chairs to accommodate a meeting size of up to 20 people. Standard room equipment includes a whiteboard and interactive projector. Refreshments can be served in this room. Additional charges may be incurred for certain events and will be discussed by the Student Center staff. Skoal Room The Skoal Room is the largest conference room in the Student Center. The tables and chairs can be arranged in a variety of layouts and can accommodate a meeting of up to 75 people (dependent on the layout). Standard room equipment includes a drop-down screen, portable microphone system, projector, sound system and voice lift. Refreshments can be served in this room. Additional charges may be incurred for certain events and will be discussed by the Student Center staff. Lower Level Conference Room This conference room was remodeled in 2010 and is furnished with chairs and tables to accommodate a meeting size of up to 30 people. Standard room equipment includes a whiteboard, interactive projector, voice lift and sound system. Refreshments can be served in this room. Additional charges may be incurred for certain events and will be discussed by the Student Center staff. Student Senate Room This conference room can accommodate a meeting of up to 15 people. Room equipment includes a whiteboard and interactive projector, one long conference table and chairs. President's Room This conference room was named for the past Valley City State University Presidents. Pictures of these presidents are displayed in the room to provide a sense of VCSU's history. This room is furnished with tables and chairs to accommodate a meeting of up to 14 people. Refreshments can be served in this room. Additional charges may be incurred for certain events and will be discussed by the Student Center staff. Food Services Cafeteria The Cafeteria was remodeled in summer of 2012. This room can accommodate up to 250 people and along with its use as a dining hall can also be utilized for meetings, conferences, and performances. Standard room equipment includes a 10'x14' drop-down screen, projector, portable microphone system and projector. Refreshments can be served in this room. VCSU contracts with Sodexo to provide excellent dining services on campus. They staff our cafeteria, the Viking I, and have many catering options. Their commitment is to customize menus for your occasion. From a formal dinner to meeting break refreshments, they’ll offer creative menus, elegant presentations, and thoughtful service to provide your guests with a memorable dining experience. Other Meeting Areas Lower Level Lounge This lounge is right off of the Lower Level Conference Room and can accommodate 15 people. Upper Level Lounge This area features comfortable furniture and a baby grand piano. This lounge has been utilized for coffee shop performers and other small vendors. The area can seat 20 people. Upper Hallway The hallway provides a great promotional area for local vendors and campus groups. The Student Center is considered the central hub of campus and the high traffic area ensures that your group will receive a high volume of students, faculty, and staff. Room Layout Information Due to the many meetings/conferences hosted at the Student Center and the many set-up requirements, a complete list of room layouts has been created to help customize your next meeting! President's House Guest Inn: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: Email the Student Center Information Desk or Call 701-845-7122 The historic President's House is located on the beautiful campus of Valley City State University. This magnificently preserved Victorian home, built in 1901, served as the home for VCSU presidents from 1921-1994. It is now being offered as a guest inn providing accommodations for visitors to the campus and the Valley City area. The President's House is also available for special events such as weddings, dining, teas, showers, business meetings, tours, and graduation receptions with full dining privileges for a few or many. Several local caterers are also available. The main floor of the home contains a kitchen, dining room, den, sitting room and music room. Rhoades Science Center: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: CLICK HERE! For IVN Labs: Call 701-845-7340. The last "new" building to be added to the VCSU Campus in 1971, the L.D. Rhoades Science Center houses the math, science and IT departments. In November 2011, the Rhoades Science Center began a major transformation- VCSU received state funding for a 26,574 sq. ft. addition and renovation of the existing building. In this renovation all of the classrooms, labs and offices will be updated and feature all brand-new lab equipment and technology. Available for rent in the Rhoades Science building is the auditorium with seating for 98 people, classrooms, an IVN lab and a planetarium (VCSU featured the the first planetarium in the state back when the building was constructed). Past events held in the Rhoades Science Center include: the Science Olympiad, various planetarium showings, hunter's safety classes, training/presentations. Medicine Wheel Park In 1992 at Valley City State University, Professor Joe Stickler and his students began work on Medicine Wheel Park. The project soon expanded beyond the walls of the classroom to involve the community. The Park features two solar calendars: A horizon calendar (the medicine wheel) and a meridian or noontime calendar. Other aspects of this unique 30-acre Park include Native American burial mounds, solar system model, the North Country National Scenic Trail and other woodland nature trials, several scenic overlooks of the Sheyenne River valley and Valley City, and a 3000 square foot perennial flower garden. For More Information on the Medicine Wheel Park...CLICK HERE Available Spaces Auditorium The auditorium was reconstructed with the rest of the building in 2012. The room features lecture seating for 98 people. Room equipment includes a sound system, drop-down screen, Apple TV, DVD Player, and a Network Room Controller. Planetarium Rhoades Science Center is home to a Spitz 512 planetarium. It has a 24 foot domed ceiling and 50 reclining seats in a three-quarter arrangement. This space was remodeled during the building construction and was completed during the summer of 2013. The planetarium is used for teaching purposes for some college classes as Astronomy and Earth Science. It's primary function though is to provide an educational service to area schools and community groups. There are 85-100 shows presented each year to college classes, visiting public schools, and various community groups. Each month a show for the general public is also provided. The room can accommodate up to 52 people. Classrooms may also be available upon request Rental Guidelines Events may be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Vangstad: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: CLICK HERE! The Vangstad Auditorium building is located on the south side of campus and was constructed in 1907 to meet the needs of the growing school. The building was named after the Vangstad twins, Lena and Thilda, who taught at the college for many years. Vangstad includes the "Circle Hall" which connects the building to McFarland Hall. The lower level and first floor of the building feature general classrooms, including an IVN Lab. The second floor houses the auditorium. Vangstad Auditorium has been used for commencement, musical and theatrical performance and speaking/presentation events. The lighting and sounds system was recently upgraded and now features high-end equipment. Available Spaces Vangstad Auditorium This historic Auditorium located in Vangstad Hall features a front stage, historic organ, and character and charm from when it was first built in. There is floor and balcony seating for up to 830 people. W.E. Osmon Field House: Event Scheduling
TO SCHEDULE AN EVENT: CLICK HERE! Building Information Originally built in 1960 and remodeled in 1980, the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse is well-known for its "bubble-like" appearance and is appropriately nicknamed "The Bubble." The Fieldhouse is home to the VCSU Vikings Athletic teams. Past events hosted in the gym include: 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, basketball camps, college fairs and VCSU Commencement. Artificial turf was installed in the football field the summer of 2011. A new scoreboard was also installed the summer of 2011. Past events hosted at the Lokken Stadium/Shelly Ellig field include: football camps, track and field events, and relay for life. Available Spaces Gymnasium Available for rent is the Gymnasium which is located on the 1st floor, allowing for handicap accessibility. The gym is 15,680 sq. ft. and features a full size basketball court. Bleachers allow for seating up to 1600 people. Shelly Ellig Field at Lokken Stadium The Shelly Ellig Field at Lokken Stadium is also a part of the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Lokken Stadium features the following amenities: Restrooms, Concessions, Ticket booths, and a Sound System. There is stadium seating for 750 people and rental includes the use of the locker rooms in the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Rental Guidelines Events may be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
