Student Assessment: How to Access the Entry Survey
1. Please use a Firefox or Chrome browser. 2. Go to the My VCSU website (https://my.vcsu.edu/). If you see the screen below, click on student. You will then be directed to the NDUS login screen. 3. Login to the NDUS system: 4. Once you are logged in click on “More Resources” under Campus Resources. 5. Click on Student Assessment under My Web Applications. *If a student can NOT find the Student Assessment link, please email Al Olson at al.olson@vcsu.edu or Rachel Bopp at rachel.n.bopp@vcsu.edu. Access will be granted as soon as possible. 1.) On the Undergraduate Forms menu, choose Surveys and Self-Assessment>Entry Survey: 2.) Choose the appropriate semester and complete the survey. 4.) "Submit" the survey.

Student Assessment: How to Enter your Sub License Number in CAS

Login to the NDUS system: 4. Once you are logged in click on “More Resources” under Campus Resources. 5. Click on Student Assessment under My Web Applications. If a student can NOT find the Student Assessment link, please email Al Olson at al.olson@vcsu.edu or Rachel Bopp at rachel.n.bopp@vcsu.edu. Access will be granted as soon as possible. The student assessment link provides teacher candidates with Central Assessment System (CAS) access to: His or her Candidate Summary information Entry Survey (EDUC 250) Diversity pre-/post-trip assessments (EDUC 352) Endorsement self-reporting (EDUC 350 or EDUC 351) Substitute Teaching Reflections (EDUC 350 or EDUC 351) Disposition Self-Assessment (EDUC 350 or EDUC 351) Student Teaching Self-Assessment (EDUC 475 or 480 or 485 or 490) Exit Survey (EDUC 475 or 480 or 485 or 490) Substitute Teacher Licensure Number Student Assessment: Sub License Number On the Undergraduate Forms menu, choose Sub License Number 2. Enter your Sub License Numbers and “Submit” the survey. The Sub License # will be displayed on the right-hand side of the page in Undergraduate Form titled the Candidate Summary Sheet.

Student Assessment: How to access Context for Learning Demographic Information
1. Please use a Firefox or Chrome browser. 2. Go to the My VCSU website (https://my.vcsu.edu/). If you see the screen below, click on student. You will then be directed to the NDUS login screen. 3. Login to the NDUS system: 4. Once you are logged in click on “More Resources” under Campus Resources. 5. Click on Student Assessment under My Web Applications. If a student can NOT find the STUDENT ASSESSMENT link, please email Al Olson at alan.olson@vcsu.edu or Rachel Bopp at rachel.n.bopp@vcsu.edu. Access will be granted as soon as possible. Click Undergraduate Forms>Field Experience and then click on the appropriate field experience. The context for learning data are gathered from four field experiences: (not self-assessment or substitute teaching) EDUC 250-Introduction EDUC 350/351- Methods EDUC 352- Diversity Practicum Experience EDUC 490- Student Teaching Please click on the field experience you are involved with at the time and enter the data to the best of your ability. VCSU does not want demographic data for the whole school, just one typical classroom you are engaged with for your field experience. As you enter the information, a green light will accompany each entry. Submit and Review Your Responses button to end the session.

NExT stands for the Network for Excellence in Teaching and is a Bush Foundation sponsored initiative. In 2009, Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM), North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Valley City State University (VCSU) were awarded a $6 million grant to collaborate for the purpose of improving our teacher education programs.
