PaperCut Client Install on Mac

Mac OS instructions for installing PaperCut client for printer account selection and notifications .

NOTE-The PaperCut client is only required for users who need access to multiple shared accounts or student employees who must charge printing to a department.


1. Open Finder Window, click Go in top menu, click Connect to Server.

2. Under server address, enter smb://papercut1.vcsu.edu/pcclient/mac and click Connect.

3. When prompted to attempt to connect,  click Continue.

NOTE- If prompted for a username and password, enter your VCSU/NDUS credentials and click Connect.


4. When window opens, locate the "client-local-install" application, right click on it and select open.

5. When prompted to install client, choose "Yes". Follow the defaults to finish the installation. 

6. When you open PaperCut client the first time, you will be prompted for a username and password, use your VCSU/NDUS credentials and make sure "Remember my Identity" is checked.

7. We recommend dragging the "PCClient" from your applications folder to your Menu Bar.

The client is not setup to open at startup, so launch the PCClient before needing to print

If you have multiple roles, you will get prompted each time you print asking for which account should be charged.

NOTE:  You must be connected to the "VCSU" wifi network to print on campus.
