[Windows] Wi-Fi not showing any connections on wireless network

Clicking the globe icon on the bottom right of your screen only shows Airplane mode without any Wifi connections 


If the image above looks the same as the issue you are currently having, please review the common causes and solutions below:



Common Causes of Issue:

  1. Windows Update uninstalls Wi-Fi driver to install new driver but fails due to internet connection dropping.
    • Solution: 
      1. Connect computer to the internet using an ethernet connection..

        • (Note: Depending on the type of computer you have, it might not have an ethernet port built in to it. If so, you will need a USB-A / USB-C to Ethernet adapter to act as an Ethernet Port)

      2. Tap the Windows icon on your keyboard and start typing Windows Update, then press Enter.

      3. Download and Install the remaining drivers, wait for all downloads to show the Status as Pending restart before hitting Restart Now.

  2. Wi-Fi driver is disabled.
    • Solution: 
      1. Tap the windows icon on your keyboard and start typing "Device Manager", then press Enter.

      2. Under Device Manager, look for the disabled hardware under Network Adapters marked with a downward arrow on the bottom right of the icon. Right-click the driver and click Enable.

      3. Restart your Computer by pressing the Windows Icon on your keyboard, hover to the power button, then press restart.
