Official Transcript Requests
General Transcript Request Information Unofficial transcripts may be viewed and printed free of charge through Campus Connection. This View/Print Unoffical Transcript article explains how. Note: Unofficial transcripts are only available for students who were enrolled at VCSU Fall 2003 or later. Official transcripts may be ordered directly from Parchment through their secure website. Valley City State University has authorized Parchment to provide official transcript ordering online. If you need to have your VCSU transcript sent to another North Dakota public college or university, PLEASE READ BELOW. Note: A valid email address and credit/debit card is needed to order a transcript. Transcript requests for academic coursework completed at other institutions must be directed to the respective institutions. An official transcript will not be issued if a financial hold is placed on a student account. Transcripts Between North Dakota Public Colleges and Universities If you need your VCSU transcript for admission at a North Dakota University System (NDUS) public college or university, you do NOT need to submit an official transcript request through Parchment. The NDUS campus to which you are applying will be able retrieve your VCSU academic transcript at NO CHARGE to you. NO REFUNDS will be granted for individuals who inadvertently request transcripts to be exchanged between NDUS colleges and universities via Parchment. NDUS schools include: 1. Bismarck State College 2. Dakota College at Bottineau 3. Dickinson State University 4. Lake Region State College 5. Mayville State University 6. Minot State University 7. North Dakota State College of Science 8. North Dakota State University 9. University of North Dakota 10. Williston State College Transcripts Sent to North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board (ND ESPB) 1. Go to: https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/32954/institution 2. You can create an account or login into your existing account by entering your email address 3. Click the Order button next to the Transcript option 4. Click on the I’m Sending To Myself Or Another Individual 5. Then select I Am Sending This To Another Individual 6. Type in ND ESPB for the Business Name 7. Type in espbinfo@nd.gov for the recipient’s email 8. When it asks, “Are you sure you want to send to this destination?”, click Yes, Continue With Selection Processing Time For transcripts to be sent immediately, select Now as the processing time. These orders will be issued in approximately 2 business days. You will see a pre-authorization charge on your credit card, but you are not charged until your transcript is delivered. For transcripts to include a degree you are graduating with soon, select Hold for Degree as the processing time. Hold for Degree orders are usually processed 14 business days after the last day of finals. Your debit/credit card will be charged immediately when the order is placed. For transcripts to include the current term's final grades, select Hold for Grades as the processing time. Hold for Grades transcript orders are usually processed 4 business days after the last day of finals. Your debit/credit card will be charged immediately when the order is placed. Delivery Information Electronic PDF - $5.50 per transcript (plus taxes if applicable) Once your order is received, the transcript will be sent electronically within 2 business days. Regular First Class USPS Mail - $8.00 per transcript (plus taxes if applicable) Once your order is received, the transcript will be mailed within 2 business days. Please allow additional 5-7 business days for delivery by the United States Postal Service. Hold for Pick Up - $8.00 per transcript (plus taxes if applicable) Once your order is received, the transcript will be available for pick-up within 2 business days. You will receive an email notification when your transcript is ready for pick-up. Photo ID is required for pickup. FedEx (United States and Canada) - $8.00 per transcript plus $25.00 surcharge per order (plus taxes if applicable) This option is applicable for U.S. and CANADA delivery. Transcript will be mailed to recipient via FedEx within 2 business days after the order is received in the Registrar's Office for receipt within 2 business days. FedEx (International) - $8.00 per transcript plus $47.50 surcharge per order (plus taxes if applicable) Transcript will be mailed to recipient via FedEx within 2 business days after the order is received in the Registrar's Office for receipt within 2 business days. View/Print Unofficial Transcript
Log into Campus Connection Click on the tile 'Academic Records' tile Click on 'View Unofficial Transcript' on the left panel Select the institution you wish to view or print a transcript from Click the drop-down option for 'Report Type' then select either 'Unoff PDF Transfer Details' or 'Unoff PDF Transfer Summary' The 'Unoff PDF Transfer Details' report will include each institution you took courses at and will list each course separately under the term in which they were taken The 'Unoff PDF Transfer Summary' report will include the institution you took courses, the number of credits that transferred, and the GPA received there in a one line summary If you have no transfer credits both the reports will display the same information After choosing the report type, click the 'Submit' button If your transcript doesn't automatically open in a new window, make sure your browser's pop-up blocker is turned off or select the most recent request then click 'View Report' To view a help document with pictures click: VIEW PRINT UNOFF TRANSCRIPT.pdf **IMPORTANT NOTE** Students who have been gone from VCSU longer than 18 months, but attended VCSU after August 2003 also have access to their unofficial transcript free of charge online in Campus Connection, but they must first contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@vcsu.edu to activate their Campus Connection account again. Once the account is active again, then they may follow the above instructions on how to view and print an unofficial transcript. Enrollment Verification
Valley City State University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as its agent for confirmation of student enrollment verification. Log in to Campus Connection. Click on the Academic Records tile. Click on Enrollment Verification. Select Valley City State University. Click on the Self Service Enrollment Verification button. You may need to authenticate your email or phone on both the NDUS Portal and the MyHub portals. Once authenticated, the MyHub homepage will pop up. Click the Download Certificate button. Click the Download Certificate button again and select Download Current Enrollment Certificate or Download All Enrollment Certificate. A PDF of the certificate will download. Enrollment Certificates become available to students in the 2nd week of the semester. Name Change Form
All Legal Name Change Request eForms must be accompanied by the 2 following documents: 1. Legal documentation showing the name change. Acceptable forms of documentation: birth certificate, marriage certificate, government-issued identification card or driver’s license, passport, or court order. 2. A signed social security card reflecting the new name. For non-U.S. citizens, an updated passport can be used in place of a signed social security card. This request will change the primary and preferred name on the student academic record. To submit a Legal Name Change Request, SSN card and legal documentation, do the following: 1. Log into Campus Connection 2. Click on the VCSU eForms square 3. Click on Records Office on the left panel 4. Click on Legal Name Change Request on the left panel 5. Complete the form, attach your SSN card and one of the approved legal documents listed above 6. Click Submit Once the eForm is submitted, the request will go to the Office of the Registrar to update your name in Campus Connection and you will receive an email to notify you when the eForm has been processed or if additional information is needed. AFTER a legal name change has been entered in Campus Connection, students will still need to reach out to Technology Services to change their NDUS dotted identifier (NDUS ID). The process to rename a user’s NDUS ID begins once the local help desk changes the NDUS ID in the DNA system, not Campus Connection.

Diploma Reorder
This diploma reorder service is provided for individuals who need to replace a lost or destroyed diploma or may have a need for an additional diploma. The reorder cost is $25. The standard processing and delivery time is 4-6 weeks after receipt of payment. The Diploma Reorder Form, found at the bottom of this page, must be completed and returned to the Office of the Registrar before the replacement or duplicate diploma will be released. NOTE: Diplomas will not be released to individuals who have outstanding debts owed to VCSU. Residency for Tuition Purposes
Tuition rates are based on the student's state of residence. It is the student's responsibility to check Campus Connection and verify their current tuition rate for billing purposes. To verify your tuition rate in Campus Connection from the Student Homepage: click Financial Account > Account Summary > select Institution Valley City State University and Account Term for the current Term. Under Charges, check the Tuition line item to verify your tuition rate. A student must be approved for the ND residency change prior to the deadline for the current semester. ** Please note, refunds will not be given for terms attended prior to approval of the Application for Resident Tuition. Adjustments in tuition rates will only be made for the current term prior to the deadline. ** Last Day to Apply for Resident Tuition Summer 2025 June 11, 2025 Fall 2025 September 4, 2025 Spring 2026 January 22, 2026 For students seeking to be granted Minnesota Reciprocity for tuition purposes: If you are a Minnesota resident who is enrolling within 12 months of graduating from a Minnesota high school, you do not need to complete a reciprocity application. For reciprocity approval, you will provide your official Minnesota high school transcript to Enrollment Services. If you are a Minnesota resident who is enrolling and has taken a break in semesters or is a transfer student, you do need to complete the Tuition Reciprocity Application. Until reciprocity is approved, students will be billed at the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP/MHEC) tuition rate, which is a higher rate than MN Reciprocity. The Minnesota Reciprocity tuition rate is granted only to students that have received approval from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. After reciprocity is approved, the MN Reciprocity will be applied for the current term and concurrent future terms. You will need to reapply if you have not enrolled within the last 12 months. Application for Admission to VCSU Elementary Education at NDSU
This form is only for NDSU Human Development and Family Science majors seeking to be admitted to the dual degree program with VCSU as an Elementary Education major on the NDSU campus. For more information about this dual degree program, please visit https://www.ndsu.edu/hdfs/academics/majors_minors/elementary_education_hdfs/. You need to request any official transcripts from outside the North Dakota University System be sent directly to the Registrar's Office, Valley City State University, 101 College St SW, Valley City ND 58072. You do not need to complete the regular VCSU application for admission or pay the application fee. Student ID Number (EMPLID)
Your Student ID, or EMPLID, is a 7 digit number. This is different then your dotted ID, which is typically FirstName.LastName and may include a middle initial or number. Here are the several places you can find your 7 digit Student ID: 1. Campus Connection - if you know your User ID and Password Log into Campus Connection Click on the Profile square Your ID number will appear in the top left corner 2. Campus Connection - if you do NOT know your User ID and Password Go to the Campus Connection website and on the right side, click Campus Connection Guest Page Click on the Help Center square Click Find My EMPLID on the left panel Enter in your social security number (National ID), first name, last name, and date of birth Click Submit Your Student ID (EMPLID) will populate 3. Email When you applied to the school you should have received an email from the North Dakota University System Help Desk (NDUS.HelpDesk@NDUS.edu) - this could have gone to your personal email or VCSU email so be sure to check both This email should have asked you to "Claim Your Account" and it included your Student ID (EMPLID) 4. Your Viking Student ID Card If you purchased a physical Viking ID student ID card, your Student ID is listed on the front of it. Student IDs are not on the digital Viking Mobile ID cards.
