Application For Graduation
Application For Graduation All candidates for graduation must make formal application to the Office of the Registrar. After the application is submitted, a graduation audit will be conducted and emailed to the candidate. Click Here To Apply For Graduation For Spring 2025, the Last Day to Apply for Graduation was December 1, 2024. For Summer 2025, the Last Day to Apply for Graduation is May 1, 2025. Your Diploma
Your Diploma Valley City State University includes the following information on diplomas: Your name The degree The confer date The diploma is printed on 8" x 10" paper. Your diploma does not indicate your major or minor. These credentials are recorded on your official transcript. Official transcripts may be ordered directly from Parchment. Unofficial transcripts can be obtained in Campus Connection by following these steps. Diploma Address It is up to you to make sure your diploma is mailed to the correct address. Your diploma will be mailed to the address that you listed on your application for graduation. If you need to change or confirm this address, please email registrar@vcsu.edu. Mailing Timeline Diplomas for associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees will be mailed 6-8 weeks after the end of term. Please note that the process for awarding degrees begins after the grades are posted and not all degrees are awarded at once. Damaged Diploma If your diploma arrives damaged, take a photo that shows the damage and email it to diplomaprints@parchment.com. In the email include the Document ID number. If you are unable to locate the Document ID number, then please include your first name and last name in an email and let them know you graduated from Valley City State University. Once Parchment receives your email and photo, they will issue a replacement diploma. Digital Diploma Approximately 1 month after graduation you will receive an email with the subject line Your VCSU Diploma, which gives you access to download a digital copy of your diploma. Caps and Gowns
Caps and Gowns Candidates for graduation may order caps and gowns through the VCSU Bookstore and can indicate whether they prefer to pickup their order or have it shipped. The Bookstore will contact candidates via email or phone regarding payment information when the orders arrive. Fall commencement orders are due on October 1st and spring commencement orders are due on March 1st. Early Commencement Participation Request
Undergraduate and graduate students who have been approved by the Office of the Registrar to graduate with a degree may request to have the privilege of participating early in a commencement ceremony here: https://onestop.vcsu.edu/support/catalog/items/101 Once the request is submitted it will be reviewed by the appropriate faculty and staff members. If the request is approved, the student will be notified via email. To participate in commencement, a student must wear a gown and mortar board that can be purchased through VCSU's Bookstore. To participate in fall's commencement, students must have their gown and mortar board orders submitted to the Bookstore by October 1st. To participate in spring's commencement, students must have their gown and mortar board orders submitted to the Bookstore by March 1st. Their name will not appear in the early commencement's program. Their name will be in the commencement program of the semester they actual graduate. A student's credentials will be conferred at the date of their actual graduation and their diploma will be mailed out 6-8 weeks after their actual graduation.
