Add Shared/Room Calendar & Create an Event in Outlook (macOS)
How to add a shared/room calendar in your Outlook app on Mac Open your Outlook app. Click the Calendar. On the menu bar, click File. Click Open then click Shared Calendar... Look for the room/shared calendar you need, in this example we will use: "VCSU Graichen Gym". Once you are done, click Open. Outlook will start checking for your permissions. Usually, rooms don't need access permissions, but if you are not allowed to open one, please take a screenshot of the error and send it to Tech Services: Ticket or Email (tsticket@vcsu.edu). Please make sure to let us know the name of the calendar/email so we can further investigate. The room/shared calendar should be added under your People's Calendar together with the other shared calendars you opened. Create an event Click the New Event button. On the subject line, enter the name of the event or subject of the event. On the required people, enter the name(s) of the attendees (optional) and make sure to include the shared calendar's email to make sure it will show up in the shared room's calendar. This is important - if the shared calendar's email is not included here, the event will not show up and other people won't see the scheduled event in their shared calendar right away unless they check the Scheduling Assistant. On the location box, type the name of the location. Disable Teams meeting if this is not needed. Make necessary changes based on your preference, once done, click Send. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive this email or if there are conflicts with the schedule, you will be informed about the conflict details.
