Duo - Add New Phone Number/Change Phone Number
If you get a new phone number you will need to add a new device in order to use it for Duo. Follow the steps below to add a new phone. 1. Open a web browser on your computer (** Do NOT use your phone) and go to https://2fa.ndus.edu and login using your NDUS credentials. 2. You will also need to use Duo here, so for this one instance choose a device or code that works to authenticate. 3. Next, click on the Add another device link shown below. 4. Select the type of device, Mobile phone or Landline you want to add and click continue. 5. Enter the new number, check the box to confirm it is correct and click continue to finish adding the new phone.

What is DUO?
DUO is a software company providing software applications used for MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) which safeguards multiple systems used by all NDUS faculty, staff and students. Multi-factor authentication is used as an additional layer of security to protect the confidentiality of private data, as defined by North Dakota University System Data Classification Standards. All NDUS students, faculty and staff are responsible for protecting private and restricted data, including data subject to export control regulations, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI and other pertinent state and federal laws and industry regulations. DUO registration is required of all VCSU faculty, staff and students to gain access to systems such as Office365, MS Office subscriptions, Campus Connection pages, PeopleSoft HRMS, Peoplesoft Finance and VCSU OneStop. Duo - Error: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
Issue: User is able to go past NDUS username and password screen but will encounter Error: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error when Duo Authentication should be showing afterwards. Sample Video of Issue Below: https://onestop.vcsu.edu/helpdesk/attachments/10054580049 Troubleshooting: To make sure that the issue is browser related, open a different browser. (example: When encountering issues with Google Chrome, try to log-in using Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox) If the issue is only seen on one browser, check browser extension. Some extensions that gives out there errors are: Survey Junkie & Truffle Disable the extensions one by one and check to see if you are able to log-in and get the Duo Authentication to show. If all browsers are having issues and all extensions have been disabled, you will need to check the Apps installed on the Computer itself Some apps such as SJ Pulse from Survey Junkie also disables Duo Authentication, and these will also disable Duo Authentication when logging into apps like Microsoft Office 365. *For OneStop agents, ticket is available for view here: https://onestop.vcsu.edu/a/tickets/17708

Unable to sign in "Intruder Detection [NDUS login]"
ISSUE / ERROR: You receive an error message stating you are unable to login due to intruder detection. CAUSE: Multiple log-in attempt with incorrect credentials. EFFECT: Locked account starting at 1 hour time intervals and increasing on subsequent failed attempts. SOLUTION: Go to https://ndus.rightanswers.com/portal/ss/ Click Forgot my password Enter your username without the @ndus.edu or @vcsu.edu Choose an authentication type and follow the instructions. Once you confirm your verification type is what you want, Click continue Once you hit continue, you will be sent to the end of the verification page and can do one of two steps: You can go to wherever the verification has been sent, via email or phone and click the "click here" button or; You can copy the block of code and paste it to the verification page. After successful verification, you will be sent to a new page consisting of an Unlock Password button. Click the Unlock Password. Your account should be unlocked at this point. Changing Password for Locked Accounts/Forgotten Passwords ISSUE / ERROR: You receive an error message stating Login failed, please try again. CAUSE: Incorrect username/email and/or password. EFFECT: Inability to log-in. SOLUTION: Go to https://ndus.rightanswers.com/portal/ss/ Click Forgot my password Enter your username without the @ndus.edu or @vcsu.edu Choose an authentication type and follow the instructions. Once you confirm your verification type is what you want, Click continue Once you hit continue, you will be sent to the end of the verification page and can do one of two steps: You can go to wherever the verification has been sent, via email or phone and click the "click here" button or; You can copy the block of code and paste it to the verification page. After successful verification, you will be sent to a new page consisting of Change Password button, click the Change Password. Follow the instructions stated and change your password. Once done, click Change Password. A new popup should appear stating that your password is being changed. Your password should be changed at this point.
